On Wednesday 17th November Coopersale Hall School took part in the I.S.A. London North Area Swimming Gala, held at the Southbury Leisure Centre in Enfield.
There were races for pupils from year’s 4-6, in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
It was a very busy and hectic morning of races, our pupils performed brilliantly. I cannot praise them highly enough for their wonderful behaviour and amazing determination to achieve success.
Oliver Thornton did so well winning a bronze medal in the U11 boys 50m butterfly and then following this up with a silver medal in the U11 Boys 50m freestyle. This success was backed up by Elizabeth Whitefield who won her heat of the Girls U9 50m Freestyle and narrowly missed out on a bronze medal.
All of our swimmers made me proud and represented our school with a wonderfully positive attitude. I am pleased to announce that both Oliver Thornton and Elizabeth Whitefield have qualified to swim for the London North Area team U11 and U9 Freestyle Relay teams at the I.S.A National Swimming Gala held at Elizabeth Park Stratford in the Olympic pool. Well done to both of them. This keeps up a long running tradition of always getting Coopersale Hall pupils through to the I.S.A. National Swimming Gala Finals.
