The children in Year 5 and Year 2 were asked to consider the importance of waste within the world and how we could think of ways in which we could reduce the amount of food, consumer and household waste that is created. Within their science classes the children watched a video and saw how different companies had become aware of their food waste and they also went onto to show us how they put measures into place to reduce the amount of food that was thrown away. They were amazed at the how effective just a little bit of change and thought had made.
The children were asked to create a comic strip based on “Zero Waste” across these year groups. We were only allowed to submit 6 entries in total. We were overwhelmed at the wonderful idea’s that the children put forward to illustrate the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling waste.
Due to the high quality of thought and consideration that the children put into their work, we have selected 5 runners up. These children will receive a school prize for the thoughts that they put into their work in the New Year.
We wish all our 6 competition entries Good Luck!
The results will be published on the ISA website in the New Year.
