On Thursday 24th November, all of the year 4 girls played 6 matches against other schools in the area. They were resilient and showed wonderful attitudes and sportsmanship. Here are some of the comments the girls have made when reflecting on their football experience:
“We had a great time and we came third out of 25 schools!”
“Although we lost some matches, we won 3 and stayed positive!”
“We did some amazing dives to block the goal!”
It seems that the children were not the only ones who enjoyed the tournament, as we received multiple emails from parents saying what a great atmosphere there was and what a fantastic job PE teacher Mr Barham had done coaching the girls.
“Prior to the tournament, there was a buzz around it with the girls talking excitedly about what would happen. It looked like the girls had a great time – the spectators certainly did!”
“Thank you for a lovely event today the environment was lovely and the girls where simply everything you hope for when you see a team together. Supportive respectful and kind good representatives of the school.”
