World Book Day 2023!

On Monday 27th February, Miss Gilbert led a whole school assembly to introduce World Book Day. We discussed the first book we ever remember enjoying, what our dream library would look like and details about World Book Day.

On Thursday 2nd March, we celebrated World Book day. All of the children made such a huge effort to dress up as their favourite author or book character. We spent the day reading, crafting bookmarks, designing our own book sleeve and many more fun activities to celebrate our love of reading.

Some classes watched a live session with the famous author ‘Michael Morpurgo’ whereby he discussed his new books and the skills around how he created plots for his stories.

The Scholastic Book fair arrived on World Book Day and lots of families came to visit and purchase some wonderful new books to enjoy at home. A big thank you to everyone that has supported the book fair. This will run until Wednesday 8th March.

Well done to everyone! World Book Day has been truly fun and reminded us all how much we love reading and what joy and imagination books bring to our lives.

Thanks to your generosity we have managed to raise £352 for Epping Forest Food Bank!
