We had an exciting afternoon this week celebrating the year with our annual Speech Day and Prize Giving. It took place in the marquee on the field which was full to the brim with pupils, staff, family and friends. The rainy weather certainly did not put anyone off coming to celebrate the many successes of our pupils.
The guest speaker this year was Mr Sami Shulton, a Community Relationship Fundraiser from St. Clare Hospice. He told us all about the charity, his involvement and the difference that donations make.
Children from Years 1-6 performed an array of songs including ‘You Are My Sunshine’ from Years 1 and 2, ‘Let it Shine’ performed by the whole school, and ‘It’s a Good Life’ from our Year 3 to 6 pupils. We also had a few pieces performed by the School Choir and Orchestra.
We are very proud of our Sports, Library, and School Council Captains, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, who gave very informative reports about what they have been up to throughout the year.
Throughout the afternoon, out guest presented prizes to a selection of our hardworking pupils.
Well done to everyone who won a prize, but all of our children should be very proud of their progress this year.
