Year 3 are made some delicious jam sandwiches during their English lesson to help prepare them to write a set of instructions about how to make a jam sandwich! They will now know what ingredients to include on their list and be able to list a step by step method to make their sandwiches successfully. Well done year 3!
How fantastic! We were able to combine a fun practical activity of sandwich making whilst still learning important aspects of grammar such as imperative (bossy) verbs and different objectives that are needed for instructions. For example, bullet points, numbers to identify the correct order and a heading to ensure the reader knows what the instructions are about.
