Welcome Back to School Assembly

Mr. Wilson was delighted to welcome everyone to a new academic year at Coopersale Hall School. Like many of the children, he was also beginning a new chapter in his life.

The children were thrilled to learn that one of his favorite books was “Paddington.” As he showed them his pop-up version, he explained that the character in this story demonstrated great courage and determination by migrating from Peru and embracing a new life.

Everyone in the hall was also starting a new chapter in their own stories, and they had the opportunity to create the type of character they would like to be. When Mr. Wilson asked the children about the books they had read that inspired them, they shared how “Matilda” portrayed a character of great courage, determination, and inspiration. They also discussed how “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” featured a character whose kindness and respect proved to Mr. Wonka that he was the perfect person to inherit the chocolate factory.

This first few days back at school will show many children that will enjoy new experiences and we were delighted that Arran in 6B, as IT Prefect was able to assist Mrs Jones within our first assembly.  He performed his first task excellently and Mrs Jones was certain that they would make a wonderful team this year.  Well done Arran!

Over the summer Eloise had time to reflect on children that were not as fortunate as herself and decided that she would like to cut her hair and that she would donate this to the “Little Princess Trust” – which was a wonderful, kind and respectful act to perform.

Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer.

Mr. Wilson wished everyone a lovely first day back and encouraged them to enjoy turning a new page in their own books, creating bold, courageous, and adventurous characters.

Mrs. Jones then took the children, and everyone was delighted to sing together, finishing off with “The Coopersale Rap,” enthusiastically singing the words, “We give it our all, learning together and having fun!”
