On Tuesday 5th November Year 7 took their learning outside of the classroom and visited Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted.
This mock Norman motte and bailey castle gave pupils an insight into what life was like for peasants in Medieval England. Pupils were able to visit the blacksmiths, the church and the weaver’s house as well as getting up close with weaponry including the battering rams and catapults.
Without doubt, everyone’s favourite activity was feeding the wildlife which roamed freely around the site. Abigail even found and introduced the group to Blippy the toad!
