Year 1 has been learning about different types of homes as part of their topic work. On Monday, 11th November, equipped with clipboards and pencils, the children set out down the lane and along Bridge Road to identify various types of houses.
Their task was to distinguish between detached, semi-detached, bungalow, and terraced homes. The children carefully noted their observations and marked their tally charts accordingly. They were also on the lookout for flats and were excited to discover one house that had been converted into flats. Well done on your keen observations, children!
The group enjoyed a snack at the playground next to Ivy Chimneys School and had fun playing on the equipment. At 11 o’clock, the children stood quietly and respectfully observed a minute of silence for Remembrance.
Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Vora were delighted by how engaged the children were in their topic work, how sensibly they walked along the streets, and how respectfully they participated in the Remembrance silence.
Well done Year 1, it was a wonderful trip and the sun was shining!
