Year 2H have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history behind the fireworks on November 5th.
The pupils explored this topic in various creative ways. They crafted three-dimensional chalk drawings depicting the spectacular sight of fireworks lighting up the night sky. Additionally, they wrote poems inspired by the vibrant colors and the vivid images these evoke in their minds. Mr. Wilson was so impressed with the quality of their poems that many pupils received a Head Teacher’s mark for their outstanding work.
In their English lessons, the children also composed letters addressed to King James I, warning him about the plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament on November 5th, urging him not to attend.
Mrs. Hogarth is extremely proud of how enthusiastically the children engaged with learning the historical significance of this tradition. She was especially delighted by their dedication and the quality of their poems and letters.
These impressive pictures and poems will be displayed in our library this term for everyone to appreciate.
