Year 3 Visit St. Johns Christmas Tree Festival

On Friday, 6th December, Year 3 visited St. John’s Church in Epping to experience the Christmas Tree Festival. The children were thrilled to have two wonderful tour guides for this special event—Mrs. Lane and Miss Leeks—who kindly took the time to show them around.

Mrs. Lane explained that over 60 Christmas trees had been decorated by various groups and organizations from the local area, including care homes, nurseries, preschools, and, of course, schools. The beautifully adorned trees were displayed for everyone in the community to enjoy.

The children were captivated by the creative decorations and took their time exploring each tree. Charlotte in Year 3 even discovered two baubles crafted by other Charlottes in the local community, which added a personal touch to her experience.

As part of the visit, the children wrote heartfelt messages to hang on the Blessings Prayer Tree. This tree offers a space for people to share messages of hope, gratitude, and wishes for the year ahead.

Both Mrs. Biddle and Miss Gilbert were delighted by how engaged and curious the children were during the event. They asked Mrs. Lane thoughtful questions, showcasing their interest and enthusiasm. The children were also exceptionally polite while enjoying a snack and drink at the church before heading back.

Well done, Year 3! Your excellent behavior and positive attitude made this visit truly memorable.
