Year 2 Poetry

Mrs. Hogarth was delighted by the wonderful poetry created by Class 2H. The class explored many topics and wondered why the world is the way it is. They also discussed the elements that make up a poem and decided to combine rhyme with the questions they had about the world.

Here are some lines from their poems:

Alfie:
I wonder why the sea is so blue,
And why I never catch the flu.

Jaini:
I wonder why the snow is white,
And why I shouldn’t take a bite.

Lavinia:
I wonder why elephants are grey,And why horses neigh.

Robert:

Why isn’t the Great Wall of China made of china?

And why are diners so much finer?

Mrs. Hogarth was thrilled by the children’s thoughtful questions and how well they communicated and listened to one another, inspiring each other to express their curiosity through poetry.

Well done, everyone!
