After a two-year enforced absence due to the pandemic, Rotary’s Youth Makes Art project has returned with an explosion of creativity and colour!
A large number of entries were received and the Epping Town Partnership and Epping Forest District Council were delighted to have sponsored this local exhibition. The competition supports the community’s young artists and also recognises the part played by our local schools in encouraging artistic expression.
On Friday 17th June, 2022 the Rotary Club of Epping hosted the art competition “Youth Makes Art” at St John’s Church in Epping. Coopersale Hall School was delighted to have won 1st Prize for “Our Pointillism” piece created by the children in the current year 6. This piece was inspired by “Le Cirque” by Georges Seurat. Gemma in Year 6 was chosen to collect our winning certificates at the Award Ceremony from Mr Mike Morgan the president of the Rotary Club of Epping.
Everyone who had been entered into this exhibition will receive a Certificate of Participation. The family of long-time Rotarian and well-known Epping resident, Mr Leonard Stace, have gifted each and every participant, in the Youth Makes Art exhibition, a sketchbook, in Len’s memory – a place to draw, paint, collage, and explore ideas and creativity. He was a passionate believer in encouraging young people to follow their interests. He believed that art was a way of influencing mental harmony and an awareness to aid personal development in the future. We would like to thank the Stace family for their kind gift and inspiring thoughts.
Well done to all of the children who entered!
