In Key Stage 3 there will be a dedicated lesson which aims to nurture and develop pupils’ independent enquiry skills which will provide an opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary way on research projects.
The aim will be for groups, and sometimes individuals, to work independently, linking their knowledge, skills and understanding in a termly cross-curricular project. The outcomes will be varied but will include a presentation of their research findings and conclusions.
This is seen as an important foundation for the skills they need to develop to be effective students in the future in school and in life and education beyond Coopersale Hall.
At the heart of this curriculum is the understanding that effective learners can apply their knowledge, skills and understanding, synthesise and evaluate information and create something original and new.
