Pupils are taught in smaller class sizes, creating a good staff-pupil ratio that is beneficial to a more personalised learning programme. The curriculum at this level is built around the framework of the National Curriculum guidelines, which we use as a starting point. We take every opportunity to challenge our pupils to think for themselves and to participate readily in the classroom. We encourage them to discuss their learning and to understand how to make further progress.
Specialist teachers continue to take subjects such as French, PE/Games, ICT, Dance, Science and Music so that the class teachers can concentrate on the core subjects such as English, Mathematics and Humanities.
